Personal Profile
Mr Ghattaura is currently an NHS Consultant in the Morriston Hospital, Swansea and Llandough Hospital, Cardiff, undertaking complex breast reconstruction following cancer. He is the lead for microsurgery, and he pioneered super-microsurgical techniques in Wales. In his NHS practice, he also treats developmental disorders of the breast including the management of large and small breasts.
Mr Ghattaura has also undertaken scientific research into facial shape and movement in London, recruiting patients from the Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead and University College London. He was awarded a Master’s degree for this research thesis, which was subsequently presented at the British Association of Plastic Surgeons Meeting in 2001. This research developed a new technique for analysing facial aesthetics and has given Mr Ghattaura a deep understanding of facial shape and form, laying the foundation for his analytical cosmetic surgery practice. Mr Ghattaura has developed an expertise in facial rejuvenation using muscle relaxation injections, facial fillers, laser facelifts, radio-frequency devices (Morpheus8) and ultrasound treatments (HIFU).
Mr Ghattaura has also authored multiple publications in peer reviewed journals as well as written book chapters. His book chapter in 'Oncoplastic Surgery of the Breast' is used extensively by breast surgeons in the field of breast reconstruction. Mr Ghattaura also provides training to the next generation of plastic surgeons through University based microsurgery courses as well as cosmetic training for junior plastic surgeons. He has written chapters on breast reconstruction for ELPRAS, the online educational tool for plastic surgeons and has trained consultant surgeons from the UK in lymphoedema supermicrosugery.
