As the highest-volume Interventional Cardiologist in Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) in South Yorkshire, he specialises in the treatment of complex coronary disease and regularly receives referrals for these procedures in South Yorkshire, whilst actively contributing to the regional 24/7 Emergency angioplasty service (Primary PCI), as well as the Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) service in Sheffield.
Dr. Krishnamurthy completed his undergraduate medical education at the University of Manchester. He then trained in Cardiology in the Yorkshire region, rotating through South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire, where he completed his training in General and Interventional Cardiology. During the course of his training, he had accrued vast experience in General and Interventional Cardiology.
In 2015, he undertook a two-year Research Fellowship with the University of Leeds, researching and publishing outcomes of patients undergoing Primary PCI in West Yorkshire. His research has been published in peer-reviewed publications, and he has presented his research at numerous National and International Conferences, as well as in media outlets. His two-year research culminated in the award of his Postgraduate Doctorate in Medicine (MD) in 2018.
He then completed his training in Cardiology in 2019, following a Fellowship in Complex Coronary Intervention at the Dorset Heart Centre, where he was trained by leading figures in the field of Interventional Cardiology. He was then appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist in Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he consistently delivers high quality, patient-centered care in General and Interventional Cardiology, and he continues to actively engage with Clinical Research.
