During his Senior House Officer and Specialist Registrar years, he has been able to receive sub-specialty experience in a number of disciplines namely Paediatric Neurology, Paediatric Haematology and Oncology, Paediatric Nephrology, Paediatric Rheumatology and Respiratory medicine and Allergy.
On completion of the Specialist Registrar training in Paediatrics and Neonatology, he was appointed as a substantive consultant in 2011 at Milton Keynes University Hospital. He covers a wide range of medical problems in children and babies including breathing problems, gut problems, allergy and neurological and blood related problems both on an out-patient and in-patient basis.
Over and above his Consultancy work Dr Mohamed is involved in medical teaching for Paediatric doctors and nurses, and he also teaches the medical students from the University of Buckingham School of Medicine. He has delivered a number of lectures at educational events for GPs and at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. He is also an examiner for the MRCPCH Clinical Examination, which examines Paediatric trainees before they can apply for higher level training.
Dr. Basheer has published a number of scientific papers in peer reviewed Medical journals and has also presented at International conferences such as European Paediatric Neurology Society Conference, International Headache Society conference, and European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases conference. He has been awarded the membership of the International Headache Society for best presentation.
