Mr Parys is a Consultant Urological Surgeon with sub-specialty interests in the aetiology and epidemiology of stone disease and general urology. He graduated from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, London University in 1979 and went on to complete his Basic Surgical Training at Hemel Hempstead and Plymouth Hospitals. Mr Parys was a research fellow at The Royal Liverpool Hospital from 1986-1989 and completed his ChM Liverpool 'Effects of Hysterectomy on Bladder Function' in 1990.

My Parys has published widely over the past 25 years and has a very impressive biography of work. He has set up the British Association of Urological Surgeons Ureteroscopic Treatment of Stones National Database and is currently the lead in BAUS National Ureteroscopic Stone Surgery Audit.

He is also currently Consultant Urological Surgeon at Rotherham General Hospital and is Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer and Examiner MB BS Medical Finals at the University of Sheffield. As well as this, he is a Faculty Member (trainer) for Ureteroscopy training courses, and a Medico-legal Expert Witness.
