Personal Profile
I am a British trained ophthalmologist. After graduating from Liverpool Medical School, I pursued a career in Ophthalmology immediately. My basic surgical training and subsequent higher surgical training were undertaken at St. Paul’s Eye Unit in Liverpool. In that time, I completed the Royal College of Ophthalmologists curriculum requirements and was granted specialist status by the General Medical Council in 2008.
I developed a special interest in Glaucoma during my training and I was fortunate enough to gain further experience in this subject at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London in 2008. After 12 months, I returned to the Northwest and took up a consultant position at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport in 2009.
I helped to revitalise and further develop the Glaucoma Service at Stepping Hill in order to meet the current NICE Guidelines and was appointed Clinical Director between 2013 and 2018.
