Mr Gareth Medlock has been a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon in Aberdeen Since 2018. Following graduation from Glasgow University Medical School in 2006, he trained both locally in Aberdeen and internationally completing a one year subspecialty fellowship in trauma and lower limb arthroplasty in Toronto, Canada in 2017.
Mr Medlock specialises in hip and knee replacements, offering MAKO robotic assisted hip, knee and partial knee replacements. Direct anterior muscle sparing hip replacement surgery is also offered for appropriate patients by Mr Medlock reducing post operative pain and improving function.
Mr Medlock has a significant role in the North of Scotland Major Trauma service, managing complex upper and lower limb fractures, non-unions in addition to pelvic and acetabular trauma. He also has a passion for medical education, together with convening a post graduate course at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh he is the lead for teaching trainee Orthopaedic Surgeons in the North of Scotland Deanery.
