Personal Profile
Professor Ahmad successfully set up and trained members of the Robotic Pelvic Cancer Service in the West of Scotland. As a partnership between NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde and the University of Glasgow, the service has delivered a number of practice-changing clinical surgical trials over the last 5-years.
At Ross Hall Hospital, Professor Ahmad manages patients with cancer of the prostate and bladder. He offers the whole spectrum of management, from initial diagnosis to treatment and subsequent follow-up.
Professor Ahmad is also currently the Chair of Urological Oncology at the CRUK Beatson Institute and the School of Cancer Sciences (SCS) at the University of Glasgow. Work in his laboratory uses novel in vivo models in conjunction with patient samples to interrogate the disease processes in advanced and treatment-resistant prostate cancer.
