Personal Profile
He gained a broad experience of general urology but was also fortunate to train under several internationally recognised experts in andrology and functional urology. This allowed him to develop a special interest in neuropathic bladder, incontinence and andrology. He has continued to conduct clinical research and has published articles on a range of topics. He was key one of the key authors on a national guideline for suprapubic catheters. He spent 2 years as an expert member of the York Research Ethics Committee.
On completing his training he initially worked as a consultant in West Yorkshire delivering specialist tertiary level services including sacral neuromodulation, artificial sphincter implantation and reconstructive bladder surgery. In 2011 he moved back up to Scotland to work at Forth Valley Royal Hospital where he continues to provide a range of specialist services for bladder and sexual dysfunction in addition to general urology.
