Dr Greene graduated from Glasgow University in 1987. He trained in General Medicine, followed by Neurology from 1991. His Neurological training was in Glasgow, followed by a 2 ½ year period of research in Cambridge studying Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. There then followed further research in Queen Square London, followed by completion of clinical training in Edinburgh.
Dr Greene then took up a Consultant Neurologist appointment at the Institute of Neurological Sciences, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Glasgow in 1999, and has worked there ever since. He takes part in the acute neurological emergencies rota, and does neurology ward consults. Out-patient work includes general neurology, but also specialised epilepsy clinics (first seizure and blackout clinic, review of epilepsy diagnosis, drug treatment of epilepsy and epilepsy surgery assessment). He also runs a Memory & Cognitive disorders clinic, seeing patients with memory problems where there is a concern about the possibility of early dementia.
