Personal Profile
Dr Krishnan is an invited member of the Royal College of Physicians, Joint Stroke Medicine Committee and a group chair of the intercollegiate working group, which developed the National Clinical Guideline for Stroke, 2023. He is the auditor for the European Stroke Organisation and an invited member of the guideline writing committee for guidelines on blood pressure management in acute stroke. Dr Krishnan was part of the guideline writing committee for the European Stroke Organisation for management stroke in women during pregnancy and the post-partum period.
Dr Krishnan is a recipient of a National Institute for Health and Care Research UK award to test mannitol for cerebral oedema after acute intracerebral haemorrhage. He is recipient of another research award as Chief Investigator to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms of how treatment could affect the blood-brain barrier and cerebral oedema after acute intracerebral haemorrhage. Dr Krishnan has published widely in world-leading medical journals including the Lancet and regularly invited to write expert medical reviews on acute stroke and complications, treatment and secondary prevention.
