After obtaining an MA in Medical Sciences from Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge University, Dr Potter completed her medical degree at Exeter College, Oxford University. She undertook surgical training in London teaching hospitals and achieved MRCS before embarking on her radiology career. Her experience on the South West Thames radiology training scheme included attachments at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, St George's Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital. She then completed a fellowship at the Royal Marsden Hospital, undertaking research on rectal cancer imaging.
She was appointed as a Consultant at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in 2007.
Dr Potter enjoys a teaching role, training radiology registrars and continues to participate in research, presenting nationally and internationally. She is involved in medical leadership, alongside her busy clinical practice, and is actively involved in patient safety and quality improvement systems.
Dr Potter is a radiologist for the regional anal, thyroid and head and neck MDT and also for the local colorectal cancer multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) at the Royal Surrey and sees patients for the same diagnostics at Mount Alvernia.
