Personal Profile
Professor Keir Lewis graduated with Honours from Guy's & St Thomas' Hospitals and completed specialist training at The Royal London and St Bartholomew's Hospital before returning home to Wales to specialise in Respiratory Medicine. He became a Consultant in 2003 and currently combines research and teaching at Swansea University with NHS duties at Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli.
In 2017, he was appointed Professor and now serves as the Clinical Lead for Respiratory Medicine across the four hospitals within the Hywel Dda University Health Board.
For a decade, he served as an NHS R&D Director and has advised national societies, research funders, and Government agencies on chronic lung disease and smoking cessation. He has authored and published four textbooks, published over 150 journal papers, and has been the lead or co-applicant on research grants totalling over £20 million across Wales, the UK, and Europe.
