He trained in orthopaedics in the Mersey region followed by completing the Liverpool Shoulder fellowship. He then undertook a sub-specialist upper limb fellowship at Wrightington Hospital.
Mr. Shah is competent in complex upper limb trauma. He undertakes all upper limb fracture fixations from percutaneous scaphoid fixation to clavicle fixation, as well as shoulder replacement for complex shoulder fractures.
His practice includes the management of carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, Dupuytren’s disease and arthritis of upper limb joints.
He also undertakes arthroscopic (keyhole) shoulder surgery for impingement syndrome, rotator cuff tears, shoulder dislocations and frozen shoulder, as well as joint replacement surgery of the hand, wrist, shoulder and elbow.
He is a research and innovation lead at the Warrington & Halton Teaching Hospitals Orthopaedic department. His research has been presented both nationally and internationally and he is a published author of various scientific papers.
He is a member of the British Elbow and Shoulder Society, British Society of Surgery of Hand, Orthopaedic Trauma Society and a faculty member of the AOUK Trauma group and AOUK Hand and Wrist group. He teaches both at national and International levels.
