He qualified at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London in 1988 and then trained on the Wessex surgical rotation, gaining vascular experience in Chichester, Portsmouth, Southampton and Bournemouth, as well as extensive general surgery experience. He undertook a period of research in Southampton looking at assessment and treatment of intermittent claudication, gaining his Master of Surgery degree.
Mr Tisi has an interest in all aspects of vascular surgery, although since appointment as Medical Director at Bedford Hospital and subsequently as Medical Director at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, has focussed his clinical practice down to more specialised areas , as well as minor general surgery, such as ‘lumps and bumps’ etc.
He has a specific interest in treatment of venous disease and offers a wide range of treatment options for varicose veins and thread veins, as well as a Duplex ultrasound service.
Mr Tisi offers patients at the Manor the option of a ‘one-stop service’ for treatment of varicose veins. This provides our patients with the opportunity to have their initial consultation, diagnostic scan and decision on a treatment plan on the same day, thus saving time on repeated visits to the hospital.
In terms of academic activity, he has previously authored the varicose veins section in BMJ Clinical Evidence, and is an Editor for Cochrane Vascular. He is a council member of the East of England Clinical Senate.
