Career History and Clinical Interests
Dr. Prasad qualified as a doctor from Oxford University. She started Cardiology training in 2006 and over the next 6 years trained in all aspects of Cardiology with particular emphasis on Cardiac Device Therapy (pacemakers, complex device therapy for heart failure and abnormal heart rhythms) at the Royal Papworth Hospital and Addenbrookes Hospital Cambridge.
From 2012-2013, she completed a fellowship at the tertiary cardiac centre Morriston Hospital and gained extensive experience in advanced rhythm management and cardiac device therapy.
She was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust in 2013 and over 4 years developed the Heart Failure and pacing service there.
In 2017, she was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at Kettering General Hospital. She has a special interest in Heart Failure and Cardiac Device therapy and general cardiac problems (chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, heart valve disease). She is the Patient Safety Lead for Cardiology. Dr Prasad has been practising at the Three Shires Hospital Northampton since 2018 and has established a comprehensive outpatient service as well as providing Cardiology in put to the care of in-patients.
Dr Prasad maintains a keen interest in advanced novel techniques for cardiac pacing and device therapy, and tailors therapy to the individual patient to provide the best symptomatic and longevity outcomes.
