Personal Profile
Mr Murthy commenced postgraduate training in orthopaedics in 1985 in India. He has since undergone general and specialist training at leading hospitals in the United Kingdom and Ireland. He obtained the Intercollegiate Fellowship in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery and a Masters degree in Orthopaedics from Liverpool University in 1999. He has had the privilege of undergoing advanced training in shoulder surgery under the guidance of two Past Presidents of the British Elbow and Shoulder Society. As a Senior Registrar at the Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital in Dublin, he had extensive training in hip and knee replacements. His Sports Fellowship training in shoulder and knee injuries for eighteen months was at the prestigious Royal Devon and Exeter Hospitals. He completed his training in knee reconstruction and replacement in the professional unit at Southampton University Hospital.
Mr Murthy has held consultant appointments in India, Ireland and Northampton before taking up post in Kent. He has a comprehensive General Orthopaedic and specialised shoulder service in East Kent providing advanced arthroscopic and modern joint replacement procedures.
