Personal Profile
Sebastian Barton grew up in Canterbury having been Senior Scholar at the King’s School and then winning an Exhibition to Cambridge University. He undertook junior medical posts in Cambridge, Norwich and Southampton before embarking on Gastroenterology training in London.
After completing a higher doctorate in the molecular biology of H.pylori infection whilst a Lecturer of the University of London, he was Senior Registrar at the Royal Free, Royal London and St Bartholomew’s Hospitals. He was appointed Consultant Gastroenterologist to the Kent and Canterbury Hospital in 1999.
