Personal profile

Mr Khan is currently working as a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine in Harrogate District Hospital. He completed 5 years of training in GIM/Respiratory Medicine in East Yorkshire Deanery.

His training years have enabled him to gain wide experience needed to be a competent general respiratory physician who can effectively manage both acute and chronic respiratory conditions. Mr Khan joined Harrogate Hospital in April 2022, since then he has developed pleural services and EBUS (Endobronchial ultrasound scan service) in Harrogate District Hospital. These services would benefit residents of this area and prevent unnecessary delays in diagnosis/staging of lung cancer, management of patients with recurrent pleural effusions and avoid long journeys to tertiary care hospital. He is also Pleural Lead in Harrogate District Foundation Trust.

Mr Khan has always been passionate about teaching and has had active role in improving the educational experience of junior doctors and nurses. He has been regularly involved in organising various educational events and delivering teaching sessions to junior doctors, nurses and medical students. He finds great satisfaction in mentoring junior colleagues to help shape their training and career. Mr Khan would like to continue his contribution towards medical education and doctor’s training.
