Professional profile

Dr Ayazi started his postgraduate training in Anesthesia at Imperial School of Anaesthesia in London. He completed his postgraduate training in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at The Central London School of Anaesthesia (Royal Free/University College London Hospital) in 2007. In his final year of training he was appointed as Research Fellow in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at University College London Hospital. He subsequently completed his training in Pain Medicine as Advanced Trainee in Pain Medicine at National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery/ Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.

Dr Ayazi worked as Consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia at The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust till November 2008. He now holds a full-time consultant post at Barnet and Chase Farm NHS Trust, London.

Dr Ayazi has been treating wide range of acute and chronic pain conditions of back, neck, shoulder and head as well as neuropathic and musculoskeletal pain using biopsychosocial model. He has acquired wide experience in the management of female and male pelvic pain including disorders of pelvic floor muscles and pudendal neuralgia. He has been actively managing pain in elderly.

Dr Ayazi is member of British Pain Society, International Association for the Study of Pain, International Pelvic Pain Society (IPPS), Pain of Urogenital Origin of International Association for the Study of Pain (PUGO). He is a member of medical advisory committee of PelvicPain Support Network.

Dr Ayazi has lectured and presented on pelvic pain and chronic pain nationally.
