Professional profile

Adam Hoad-Reddick qualified from the University of Manchester in 1994 and underwent training as a junior doctor in the Manchester region before being appointed to the Merseyside Specialist Training Rotation in Orthopaedic Surgery.  Sub-specialist training was undertaken at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston MA, at Wrightington Hospital, and as the Cavendish Hip Fellow and Clinical Lecturer in Orthopaedics at Sheffield University and the Northern General Hospital.

In November 2004 he was appointed as a Consultant at Wrightington Hospital where he had an elective practice specialising in hip and knee surgery.  Over six years he continued to develop his practice, specialising in complex primary, revision and arthroscopic surgery of the hip and knee. He also maintained a general trauma practice in Wigan during this time.

He now works exclusively at The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle and is supported by a team including a Practice Manager, Michelle Platt and a Specialist Nurse, Liz Handford.  He exclusively treats hip and knee problems electively and continues to manage trauma patients.  He sees patients from the Emergency Care Department, referrals from local GPs, tertiary referrals from other consultants and NHS patients through the Choose and Book pathway.

Areas of special interest include sports related hip problems, hip and knee arthroscopy and joint replacement in the hip and knee.

He teaches fellow consultants and registrars regularly on Hip Arthroscopy Courses nationally and manages Amateur, Elite and Professional sports people with hip related problems.

Mr Hoad-Reddick is actively researching hip and knee related issues and audits his results with rigorous data collection.
