Mr Kalogrianitis trained in shoulder and elbow surgery on the North West orthopaedic rotation, complementing this with the Biomet shoulder and elbow fellowship in Nottingham with Professor Angus Wallace.
He was appointed consultant to the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust in February 2009 with a special interest in shoulder and orthopaedic trauma surgery.
Mr Kalogrianitis’s practice at BMI Priory and Edgbaston Hospitals deals mainly with problems of the shoulder and elbow. This includes all aspects of surgery including rotator cuff disease, instability, sports related injuries, trauma and shoulder and elbow joint replacement. He maintains close links with the physiotherapy unit at the hospital to provide a continuum of rehabilitation.
Mr Kalogrianitis has been involved in clinical research resulting in publications and presentations on different aspects of shoulder and elbow surgery as well as in other fields of orthopaedics. He is involved in the training of higher surgical trainees at Birmingham as well as other visiting surgeons.
