Paying for yourself

Contrary to many people's beliefs, private health care is available to everyone. Whether you are insured or not, you can benefit from private health care for a range of services and treatments throughout the BMI Healthcare network of private hospitals.

As part of the UK's No.1 private hospital group, you can feel confident in the care and facilities available at all of our BMI hospitals.
Each hospital meets strict national clinical standards and provides a full range of support and back-up facilities.

With immediate availability for appointments for a range of services and treatments, growing numbers of people are opting to pay for their own medical treatment because it is fast, affordable and convenient. From a consultation or scan, through to diagnostic investigations, physiotherapy, minor or complex surgery, each can be paid for directly by you.

If you don't see your procedure listed then please give us a call on 0800 142 2316 or click on the LIVE SUPPORT image above to chat to us online right now and we'll be more than happy to talk you through the options.

In the current climate, many operations are no longer available through the NHS, or they're restricted with long delays. In some cases with new restrictions being introduced you may not even qualify for treatment.

Five simple steps to accessing fast treatment with BMI Healthcare

Before you receive any treatment privately, call your local hospital helpline and ask for a quote. If you're searching for a particular BMI Healthcare Hospital all the details can be found by clicking here and this will take you to our hospital locator, alternatively if you'd rather speak to someone straight away then why not call us on our dedicate freephone ONECALL number 0800 142 2316.

With many of our procedures available at a fixed price, there are no worries about any unexpected bills and often you'll find the cost of private healthcare is less expensive than you might think.

We know that the descision to choose private healthcare can sometines seem confusing so in order to help make the decision to pay for private healthcare easier, we have produced guideline prices for some of the most sought after operations as well as those operations that are currently unavailable on the NHS or for which there are long waiting lists. To see these guideline prices just click here.

2. Getting a referral

Most medical treatments start with a referral to a specialist from your GP. However you can self refer for a number of treatments and book appointments directly with the hospital.

3. Seeing the specialist

Your specialist will decide whether you need some tests, admission for a stay in hospital or treatment that can be carried out as a day patient. Having had your personal needs identified we will let you know how much your treatment will cost before going ahead.

4. Arranging treatment

Whether you require a simple outpatient procedure or need major surgery you can access treatment with very little waiting time. So you can choose when is most convenient to you.
