There are two ways to pay for private healthcare with Circle Health Group: you can pay for your own treatment (also called self-pay), or you can use your private medical insurance.
On this page, you’ll find more information on both ways of paying for treatment, and a section explaining private healthcare costs at Circle – from individual private treatment prices to information about paying for healthcare in monthly instalments.

Many people don’t realise that you can easily access private healthcare even if you don’t have medical insurance.
Self-pay can also be used to pay for treatments that aren’t covered by your insurance policy – for example elective cosmetic surgery, or treatment for pre-existing conditions.
Another reason people choose self-pay private treatment is that they don't want to switch permanently to private healthcare. You might go private for a treatment that has a particularly long waiting list on the NHS, or something that the NHS does not offer. But you don't have to commit to going private permanently. In fact, you can move back and forth as often as you like.
At Circle Health Group, all our consultants and hospitals welcome patients who want to pay directly for their own treatment. Think of it as pay-as-you-go private healthcare: you pay for what you need, when you need it.
If you pay for yourself, you’ll get access to all the same services and facilities, and in some cases even more. We offer fixed-price packages that include six months’ aftercare, so we’re there for you through your recovery too.

If you have private health insurance, whether personal or through your work, you can use this to pay for treatment at any of our Circle Health Group hospitals.
If you aren’t sure whether you have private medical insurance, it’s always worth checking. Many people have company cover through their employer that they forget to use. Some policies cover family members too – for example partners, children or parents – so you should check with your loved ones to see if they have private healthcare insurance that might include you too.
We work with all major private healthcare providers in the UK, and you can simply tell your provider which Circle hospital you’d like to have treatment at.
If you pay for your own treatment at Circle Health Group, you can take advantage of our flexible payment options, which allow you to spread the cost of treatment.
You can pay monthly for your treatment over a period you choose, from 12 months to five years. For the first 10 months, payments are often interest free.

*We used to offer a BMI finance card, also known as the BMI card, which was another way to spread the cost of your treatment with us. We now use Chrysalis Finance, which offers the same great rates and flexibility, and has an even easier application process.
Private healthcare costs depend on a variety of factors, including:

We have a network of thousands of experienced consultants across our 50+ hospitals and clinics, and they each specialise in a particular area of medicine. Help in your recovery
When you pay for treatment with Circle Health Group, your package will include six months of aftercare. This means we’ll be there for you throughout your recovery if you need us, whether that’s with follow-up appointments and scans, or a course of physiotherapy to accelerate the healing process.
This is included in the price you pay up front, so you can focus on getting better without worrying about hidden costs down the line.
Flexible payment options
We work with Chrysalis Finance to offer flexible payment options to help you spread the cost of treatment, making private healthcare more affordable than you’d think.

Does private healthcare cover cosmetic surgery?
Most cosmetic surgery in the UK is paid for privately. However, the cost of elective cosmetic surgery will not usually be covered in your private health insurance policy.

These allow you to cover the price of cosmetic surgery with manageable monthly instalments over anywhere from 12 months to five years, with interest free options available.
How expensive is private healthcare (UK)?
Private healthcare costs in the UK differ depending on which private hospital you have treatment at, what type of medical treatment you are having, and which consultant is looking after you.
You can either pay for private medical treatment using private health insurance, or you can pay for your own treatment (self-pay). If you choose self-pay, you can take advantage of our flexible payment options, which allow you to spread the cost, so it’s more affordable.
How do I get a private health check?
It’s very easy to get a private health assessment with Circle Health Group. We offer various levels of health screening, so that you can choose the checks and tests that are most appropriate for you.
Health checks are a very affordable way to access the benefits of private healthcare. They can highlight health problems in their early stages, even preventing certain issues before they start.
You don’t need to be referred by your GP in order to get a private health check. Just give us a call and we’ll get you booked in at your local Circle Hospital.
Do I need private medical insurance?
You don’t need private health insurance to access private treatment at Circle Health Group. All of our consultants, hospitals and services are completely available to people who are paying for their own treatment.
Many people choose not to have private health insurance and instead just pay for treatment as and when they need it, using our pay-as-you-go option, also known as self-pay.
