Personal Profile

Donald qualified from the University of Edinburgh and went on to gain extensive training in vascular and endovascular surgery in Edinburgh, Leicester and Adelaide, Australia. He was appointed as Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon in Birmingham in 2004.

Donald has been awarded a doctorate in vascular research at the University of Edinburgh and is an author of several publications on foam sclerotherapy.

Donald is a pioneer in keyhole vascular treatments and specialises in walk-in-walk-out procedures for varicose veins and leg ulcers. He uses minimally invasive endovascular techniques, such as ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy and radiofrequency ablation.

The medical, surgical and minimally invasive management of venous and arterial disease. a) varicose vein and leg ulceration treatment with minimally-invasive approaches including radiofrequency ablation and ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy; b) aortic aneurysm treatment with minimally-invasive endovascular surgery and open surgery; c) lower limb arterial disease with minimally-invasive angioplasty and stenting and open surgery.
