Personal Profile

After having completed his MBBS in 2000, from St John’s Medical College one of the leading Medical Schools’ in India, Dr Jeffrin Anthony pursued his Post-Graduate Medical training in General Internal Medicine from University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire and was awarded his MRCP in 2005. He then went on to do his speciality training in Cardiology in the Midlands UK and was trained by eminent Cardiologists, Dr M F Shiu, Dr M Been and Prof R Smith and had further training in Interventional Cardiology by Dr M Norell and Prof J Cotton. He completed his speciality training in Cardiology with a Sub Speciality interest in Interventional Cardiology and was awarded his CESR in Cardiology in 2015. In 2017, he was elected as Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh. 

Dr Anthony is now working as a Consultant Cardiologist at Walsall Manor Hospital NHS Trust. He is a Visiting Interventional Cardiologist at Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust.

He is a GMC recognised undergraduate and post graduate trainer and an approved appraiser.

Apart from being an excellent Interventional Cardiologist, he is passionate in delivering high quality healthcare for the community and is constantly using new and advanced technology to innovate and provide state of the art care for his patients. 

He is currently working on an application based system to integrate primary and secondary care providers of health to deliver excellent and efficient healthcare for the patients. 

He is a keen sportsman and has a special interest in screening athletes with heart disease.

Clinical Interests

I am fully competent in managing all cardiac emergencies.

I use a wide variety of cardiac diagnostics including ECG, ETT, ECHO, Holter Monitors, 24 Hr BP monitors and Cardiac CT.

I main area of interests is Interventional Cardiology. In the past year I have performed around 200 coronary angioplasties, both elective and emergency procedures. Out of these in past year I have performed 75 Primary angioplasties (emergency life saving keyhole surgery for heart attacks) ,

I  also have experience in pacemaker implantation and  I am iinterested in pre-employment cardiac screening and screening athletes for heart disease.
