His strong research background and clinical experience enabled him to publish a definitive book about the modern management of common gynaecological problems utilising minimally invasive approaches.

He is one of the leading UK experts endoscopic surgery and diagnostic and therapeutic interventions in benign gynaecology. He maintains close links with the University of Birmingham, both in research and teaching, where his academic achievements were recognised when he was made an Honorary Professor (2015-) and Director of the Birmingham Women’s Hospital Clinical Teaching Academy.

He is actively involved with the training of medical students, junior doctors and GPs with an interest in gynaecology. His clinical and research interests lie in the management of abnormal bleeding and pelvic pain, where he holds over £9million in research funding. He lectures internationally and has published over 200 research papers, ten books and several guidelines for evidence-based gynaecological practice.

He has been elected as the West Midlands Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2023 and is the ex-President of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (2020-) and sits on the European Society of Gynecological Endoscopy Executive Board (2020-).
