Personal Profile
Mr Dalal continued his orthopaedic training in the United Kingdom on the North East Thames, Oxford and Cambridge rotations. He obtained the FRCS Orth in 1998 and continued his fellowship training in London, Dallas and Baltimore. He was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust in 1998. He is also an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Manchester.
Mr Dalal's primary interest is in foot and ankle surgery, a focus area in which he carries out the full spectrum of surgery, from ingrowing toenails to total ankle replacements. He also has special interests in forefoot deformity correction and Achilles tendon disorder, in addition to minimally invasive surgery of the ankle.
Rakesh has published extensively on the topic of foot and ankle surgery, describing several innovative surgery techniques. He has also contributed chapters to orthopaedic surgery textbooks and has lectured at both national and international meetings.
In his spare time, Mr Dalal enjoys both watching and playing cricket, music and travelling.
