Professor Adam Timmis is Professor of Clinical Cardiology at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University London.
He qualified from the University of Cambridge and St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College. His cardiology training was at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston and at Guy's Hospital, London before taking up his current post.
He consults generally in all areas of adult cardiology with a special interest in chest pain management and coronary intervention, including angioplasty and stenting. He has published extensively in the cardiovascular literature and chaired the NICE guideline groups on investigation of stable chest pain (2010) and management of angina (2011). He is Editor of Heart, the UK's premier international cardiological journal.
