I am a medical oncologist who joined the Sussex Cancer Centre in May 2014. My specialist training was based at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, Merseyside. A study titled “Novel transcripts in small cell lung cancer and their potential as markers of micrometastasis and novel therapies” was the focus of my two year full time MD research project supervised by Dr Neil Blake, Dr Judy Coulson, and Dr Ernie Marshall. I became a consultant in 2008 at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre treating lung, breast, upper and lower gastrointestinal cancers. I was also a member of the acute oncology and carcinoma of unknown primary teams.
I joined the team at the Sussex cancer centre in May 2014. I am part of the breast cancer team at Worthing hospital and I am the clinical lead for acute oncology there. Patients receive their treatment on the medical day case unit at Worthing hospital. At Worthing there is a dedicated Medical Daycase Unit (MDCU) for chemotherapy patients and the £6.5 million Breast Unit, from which West Sussex Breast Screening service is run.
