Trained in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Yorkshire deanery based in Leeds University Medical school, completing and getting the certificate of completion of specialist training in March 2000.
Completed a further year of advanced fellowship training at the University of Toronto in Canada in Childrens Orthopaedics after which I joined the Orthopaedic staff at the James Cook University Hospital as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon.
In addition to my clinical work both at my NHS hospital and privately, I am passionately interested in surgical education both in the UK and abroad and also in how to make large organisations work better.
I have been an examiner for the Orthopaedic board exams for the Royal College of Surgeons intercollegiate boards for some years now.
