Dr Kabir is a Cardiology Consultant at the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre. This is one of the busiest cardiology centres in the country. He actively trains junior doctors in cardiology and regularly lectures for professional exams. He qualified from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Medical School in 1996. He trained in cardiology at St Bartholomews’ Hospital, the London Chest Hospital and the Heart Hospital, UCLH. He gained a PhD in Ischaemic preconditioning from King’s College London. He has published in peer reviewed journals and presented at international meetings.
He has expertise in all areas of general cardiology. Dr Kabir has specialised in interventional cardiology. In addition he has a profound interest in adult congenital heart disease and is the Clinical Lead for the local service in this area. In addition to this he also performs pacemaker insertions for patients with heart rhythm problems. He strongly believes in giving patients the time to discuss their medical problems and treating them holistically. He is accredited in cardiology and general medicine.
Dr Kabir’s passions outside medicine are his family and also the Korean martial art Kuk Sool Won, in which he has a black belt. Languages: English, Bengali.
