Dr Mohammed finished his training in respiratory and general medicine in Edinburgh 2009. During his training years, he had the opportunity to work with the world experts in respiratory medicine. He then took his first consultant post at Stirling Royal Infirmary in 2009 before he moved to Whipps Cross Hospital where he is currently working as consultant chest and general physician.
At Whipps Cross Hospital Dr Mohammed runs two clinics per week, lung cancer and general respiratory ones. Dr Mohammed has taken the lead in lung cancer at Whipps Cross Hospital and also taken the procedure lead (Bronchoscopy/ EBUS/Thoracic Ultrasound) within the respiratory departments across Barts health NHS Trust. He has established the new Pleural Ultrasound service at Whipps Cross University.
Dr Mohammed has trained to do the new innovative technique (EBUS) Endobronchial Ultrasound System by using the bronchoscopy and established this new service in August 2012 jointly with the Royal London Hospital where he does one session per week. As acute and general physician, he is also heavily involved with the ongoing development of the New Emergency Medical Centre at Whipps Cross Hospital and taking the lead on clinical guidelines update and clinical audit projects.
