Mr Ali Warsi is a Consultant Upper GI and General Surgeon at The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay and works at FGH in Barrow in Furness, WGH in Kendal, and RLI in Lancaster. He specialises in Laparoscopic (Minimally invasive) surgery and diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopies. He has completed all his Basic and higher surgical training including pioneering research and thesis in the U.K. He has had extensively training in minimally invasive surgery.
In addition he has had the privilege to be trained in advanced Laparoscopic surgery- as a post-CCT Fellow in Laparoscopic Upper GI and Bariatric Surgery in the U.K., National Bariatric Fellow in the U.K., and International Bariatric Fellow in Belgium- all in ‘centres of excellence for almost 2 years. He is the Tutor for the Royal College of Surgeons of England, member of the Specialist training committee in the North West and a LNC member for the BMA.
He is a faculty member and teaches at the Laparoscopic skills course for the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He is also a recognised appraiser for the last 8 years. He also has an active role in the GMC for doctors ‘fitness to practice’.
