I have been a NHS and Private Consultant Gynaecologist since 1995. I qualified from the University of Manchester in 1983. In my final exams I was awarded Honours in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and in Pharmacology. I worked in two Teaching Hospitals, as a House Surgeon at Manchester Royal Infirmary and House Physician at Salford Royal Hospital. I then worked as an SHO at the University Hospital of South Manchester (Withington Hospital), Saint Mary’s Hospital Manchester and St James Hospital Leeds.

I then spent 2 years at the University Hospital of South Manchester (Withington Hospital) as a Research Registrar under Professor Max Elstein studying ‘Prostaglandins and Ovulation’. I submitted my thesis and was awarded MD by the University of Manchester. During this time I published several papers. I was awarded the ‘Young MRCOG’ award by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists which facilitated me presenting my research work at a meeting in Singapore. The work was also accepted at meetings in London and Vienna. In total 20 papers were published including in high impact journals such as the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism.

I was then appointed to the Manchester Registrar rotation and worked at Trafford General Hospital, Fairfield General Hospital Bury, Oldham General Hospital and Saint Mary’s Hospital Manchester.I then was appointed to the Senior Registrar post at Hammersmith Hospital and Northwick Park Hospital. Whilst at Hammersmith Hospital I worked for Professor Robert Winston in one of the most sought after posts for Fertility training. I learnt microscopic tubal surgery, advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery. After spending 1 year at the Hammersmith Hospital I rotated to Northwick Park Hospital for 1 year. I was then accredited to apply for Consultant posts and was appointed to the first post I applied for, as Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Northwick Park Hospital (in 1995). At the time there were only 5 consultants in the Maternity Department. We have since merged with Central Middlesex Hospital and then Ealing General Hospital, so now have 25 consultants.

I started my private practice at the BMI Clementine Churchill Hospital in 1995 and so I am very experienced. I am a General gynaecologist with a special interest in Fertility. I perform both Laparoscopic and Hysteroscopic surgery for fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, polycystic ovaries, ectopic pregnancies, removal of damaged tubes, adhesions and polyps. I have special expertise in tubal surgery and the surgical treatment of large fibroid by Myomectomy.

I have trained many junior doctors aver the years, who have now become established Consultants both in the UK and abroad, as well as senior general practitioners (GP’s). I have given several lectures to update GP’s and these have always been well recieved with good feedback. I have had regular successful appraisals over the years and I am our Department’s Senior Appraiser. My work is of a very high standard with very few surgical complications and excellent doctor and patient feedback.

I am the lead Consultant for London Women’s Clinic, Harrow which is an IVF Unit with excellent results, treating patients who need IVF, ICSI, IUI, Egg Donation, Egg freezing and Preimplantaion Genetic Diagnosis.

I was appointed the Gynaecology Representative on the Medical Staff Committee (MSC) at the Clementine Churchill Hospital representing 25 other Consultant Gynaecologists from different Hospitals and did this for over 10 years due to my being a senior doctor with a reputation of being fair, objective and trustworthy.
