Dr Stewart graduated from the University of Dundee in 1989 and has enjoyed rich and extensive training in postgraduate medicine, literally across the world in the UK and New Zealand. She obtained accreditation in Internal Medicine both in the UK and Australasia and completed higher training in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology in the Northern Deanery.

Dr Stewart worked as a Consultant Physician and Honorary Clinical Lecturer at County Durham and Darlington NHS Trust from 2000-2004. Since then she has spent many years working as a Consultant Endocrinologist in the United Arab Emirates, most recently at Imperial College London Diabetes Centre. She has wide and extensive experience in Internal Medicine and all areas of Diabetes and Endocrinology with particular interest in managing Diabetes and Endocrine disorders before and during
pregnancy.

As well as providing high quality clinical services Dr Stewart has an interest in Medical Education and has been an examiner for NZREX, PACES, and currently the GMC.
