Mr Amir Tadros is a Consultant Plastic Reconstructive and Hand Surgeon and the Clinical lead of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. He practices at the BMI Albyn Hospital in Aberdeen, BMI Kings Park Hospital in Stirlingshire and Harley Street in London.
He specialises in complex microsurgical reconstruction following cancer or trauma of adults and children. He has a special interest in plastic (aesthetic) surgery of the face, breast and abdomen.
After attending school in Hertfordshire, he embarked on the plastic surgery pathway in 1996 after obtaining two degrees from King's College in London and Leicester University Medical School (MBChB and BSc).
He gained fellowship status from both the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow in September and October 2000 MRCS (Glas), MRCS (Edin).
Mr Amir Tadros continued his higher training in plastic surgery and was awarded an M.D. for his thesis.
In 2004, He was appointed to the Pan Scotland Specialist Registrar Plastic Surgery Program and graduated from the internationally renowned Canniesburn Plastic Surgery unit in Glasgow.
In 2010, he was accepted as a fellow in the Royal college of Plastic Surgeons and was awarded FRCS (plast) and enrolled on the Specialist Register at the General Medical Council. He was also awarded a diploma from Federation of European Societies for Surgery FESSH (dip).
He was offered a fellowship at St Thomas' Hospital, London. This allowed him valuable learning opportunities in cutting edge surgery and techniques in microvascular and breast reconstruction. This helped to ensure that he can offer the latest techniques in breast, head, neck and hand surgery to his patients.
He is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen and has published extensively in peer review journals.
He has set up two charities at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to improve patient services.
He is the Founder and Director of The Aberdeen International Microsurgical Reconstruction Flap course and Co-Director of the Hand Course.
He has trained in Plastic (aesthetic) Surgery at Dallas and Athens and has been invited to Chair in multiple meetings for Plastic (aesthetic) Surgery and Reconstructive Surgery.
