Personal profile

Dr Gupta is an alumni of The Manchester Grammar School and the University of Manchester. Having initially undertaken Core Surgical Training on the East of Anglia rotation at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge, he undertook further surgical training in Plastic Surgery and Trauma and Orthopaedics in various hospitals in London, gaining both MRCS and MSc (merit) degrees.

Dr Gupta subsequently undertook his core and higher specialist Clinical Radiology training on the West Yorkshire training scheme (Leeds/Bradford rotation), obtaining the FRCR degree in 2016.

He worked closely with the Trauma and Orthopaedic team, routinely attending the morning trauma meetings along with leading on several multi-disciplinary team meetings, including the Hip, Knee, Foot and Ankle and Hand and Wrist. He has a keen interest in musculoskeletal intervention and injectables, and has introduced several new musculoskeletal intervention procedures since joining the Trust.

He is the Radiology Consultant Clinical Governance Lead, Lead Radiology Consultant for IRMER, and an Educational Supervisor for Radiology trainees on the North West training scheme. Most recently, he was awarded a clinical excellence award for a 2 year period, starting in 2020/2021.
