Mr Chilie trained at a prestigious medical school in Romania and qualified in 1996. After finalising general surgical training, he worked as a Consultant in the largest trauma centre in Romania and developed an interest in laparoscopic and upper gastrointestinal surgery.Mr Chilie then moved to the UK in 2010 and worked at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire as an Associate Specialist in upper GI surgery. Since 2014, he has worked as a Consultant Upper GI Surgeon at Leighton Hospital.
Mr Chilie has a special interest in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery which forms the majority of his work. He specialises in upper gastrointestinal problems, in particular in biliary and pancreatic diseases.
