Mr Andrew Bebbington

Personal profile

Mr Bebbington was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon based in Morriston Hospital in Swansea in August 2009. He has a special interest in hand, wrist and elbow surgery, dealing with all areas of general and complex hand and wrist and nerve conditions as well as dealing with complex hand, wrist and elbow trauma. Qualifying from University Wales College of Medicine in 1996 with honours, he undertook junior surgical training posts throughout South Wales including a research post.

He undertook Higher Surgical orthopaedic training programme in 2003 based in Bristol and the South West covering all aspects of general orthopaedic surgery with a bias towards upper limb surgery and completed a senior fellowship advanced trainng post in hand and wrist surgery at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham in 2009.

Mr Bebbington has published numerous papers in Orthopaedic and Hand Journals as well as many national and international presentations at conferences. He also obtained a Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine.

  • Subspeciality interests are hand and wrist surgery, elbow surgery and peripheral nerve surgery.

  • Particular interests include Dupuytrens and hand and wrist arthritis including small joint replacement as well as complex hand,wrist and elbow trauma.
