Andrew Pearson is one of only a handful of truly specialist hip surgeons in the UK.
His NHS and private practice is solely devoted to treating hip conditions.
Because Andrew purely specialises in this area each year he does in excess of 400 hip replacement operations. This has allowed him to become highly experienced in a niche field leading to very low complication rates.
He offers pain relieving injections, hip resurfacing operations, total hip replacements and revision surgery (helping patients where previous surgery has failed).
Andrew also treats people from around the world, with all kinds of hip injuries caused by playing sport or trauma or arthritis.
A highly qualified surgeon, Andrew graduated from the Charing Cross Medical School in 1995 with distinction. He also won the surgery prize.
His higher surgical training in Orthopaedics brought him to the West Midlands. He also undertook advanced training in complex and revision hip surgery in Oxford before taking up his consultant post at one of the leading specialist Orthopaedic hospitals in the country, The Royal Orthopaedic in Birmingham, in 2004.
As well being a leading consultant and having a clinical hip practice at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital - he is also Medical Director.
He has presented at Hip conferences around the globe, teaches other surgeons and has carried out research into new hip surgery techniques. He has also had papers published around the world.
