Personal profile

Mr Agarwal trained as a General Surgeon and was initiated into Plastic Surgery at the prestigious missionary Christian Medical College, Vellore, South India.

He completed a Plastic Surgery training programme at PGI Chandigarh in India, followed by a two-year Hand Fellowship at the renowned Ganga Hospital, in Coimbatore, India.

Armed with sound basic principles but with a view to obtaining the very best practical results, he trained further in outstanding Plastic and Hand Units all over the UK. This included working and studying in Manchester and in Chelmsford and East Grinstead in Essex.

During his quest for excellence he published extensively and completed the FRCS (Glasgow), the FRCS (Plast) and two Diplomas (British and European) in Hand Surgery.

He has been an NHS Consultant Plastic Surgeon since 2008, and is employed as a full-time substantive Consultant at the Royal Preston Hospital.

He currently focuses principally on hand surgery below the wrist (primarily of the fingers), while maintaining his knowledge of other aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Mr Agarwal believes strongly in clearly defining any given cosmetic problem and visualising the ideal solution.

He provides an initial detailed consultation, listening carefully to the patient’s viewpoint, and will then explain what can and cannot be achieved using today’s state-of-the-art techniques.

He employs hand sketches and photographs until the end result can be clearly seen and agreed upon by both patient and surgeon.

He believes his results should speak for themselves and takes pride in complete patient satisfaction.
