Ms Raurell trained as a Plastic Surgeon in the UK and Australia is registered with the General Medical Council and is enrolled on the National Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery. She is a member of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) as well as being a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Her main plastic surgery interests within the NHS are breast reconstruction surgery, and soft tissue (sarcoma) cancer surgery and, microsurgery. She is also involved in developing new reconstructive services with other surgical specialties in Nottingham, including vaginal and perineal reconstruction following cancer surgery.
Maintaining high standards of patient care and operating technique is important to her. She is the East Midlands Training Program Director for Plastic Surgery. She is responsible for ensuring that Trainee Plastic Surgeons in the Region have outstanding training and they have fulfilled all the curriculum requirements before they are certified as consultants.
