Personal profile

Tony Heagerty graduated in Medicine from London University. In 1987 he obtained his research MD and was appointed to a BHF Clinical Senior Research Fellowship. In 1991 he was appointed Professor of Medicine in the University of Manchester and established a Department focussed on Cardiovascular Research.

He has been President of the British, the European and the International Societies of Hypertension.  He has published more than 300 papers and in 2016 he received the ISH Robert Tigerstedt Lifetime Achievement Award
