Mr Chaudhuri was appointed Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Bedford Hospital NHS Trust in March 2008.
He qualified from the University of Calcutta, India where he was later awarded the Master of Surgery degree. After initial training in the cardiothoracic surgery and advanced endoscopic units in Leicester, he then went on to specialist training on the Cambridge higher surgical rotation, based at Huntingdon, Peterborough, Norwich and Cambridge. In that period he also undertook research in arterial structural and flow mechanics, endovascular treatment of aneurysms, and obtained the MSc from the University of London with honours for his thesis. He was also appointed to the post of Lecturer in Surgery at the Royal Free Hospital in London. After obtaining specialist accreditation, he worked in Perth, Australia, obtaining hands-on experience in the interventional management of peripheral arterial and complex aortic aneurysmal disease before returning to the NHS.
Mr Chaudhuri tackles a wide spectrum of arterial and venous disease; his interests are in endovascular aneurysm repair, hybrid interventions for peripheral arterial disease, carotid and amputation surgery.
In his spare time, Mr Chaudhuri is a keen squash and cricket player and listens to jazz-fusion, playing a bit of bass guitar when he can.
