Clinical Interests

Mr Rahi has been Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon in full time practice since 2001.

He performs innovative single visit Endovenous Laser Treatment ( EVLT ) for varicose veins.  EVLT is quick, minimally invasive laser procedure, which closes the faulty vein but leaves no scarring. EVLT has a short and relatively pain-free recovery period.

He performs Carotid surgery, endovascular aneurysm and leg bypass surgery. He regularly performs Laparoscopic Hernia and Laparoscopic Gall-bladder surgery.

He also runs a one stop clinic for varicose veins and thread veins with ultrasound facility.

Personal profile

Mr Rahi is a full time consultant general and vascular surgeon in East Lancashire NHS Trust. He completed his surgical training ( CCST ) in Cardiff in 2000.He carried out research at St. Mary’s Hospital London and was awarded Masters in Vascular science degree with Distinction by Imperial College London in 1999.

Mr Rahi did a vascular fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, USA in 1998. Mr Rahi has a special interest in innovative and minimally invasive surgical techniques:  venous ( EVLT ), arterial ( Eversion carotid surgery under local anaesthesia ) and Laparoscopic surgery.

He delivers very high quality treatment to his patients which reflects in outstanding outcomes.He is regularly involved in teaching and examination of Manchester Medical School students.

Mr Rahi’s Royal College of Surgeons of England activities are in the domain of teaching, training and assessments in the role of College Tutor, IMRCS Examiner, Overseas MRCS Examiner, College Assessor and Faculty Tutor for surgical courses.
