Personal profile

Mr Gandhi is a Specialist Consultant Surgeon at the Nightingale Breast Cancer Centre, an internationally recognised centre of excellence based at Wythenshawe Hospital. This is one of the largest breast units in the UK and also one of the busiest breast screening units.

Mr Gandhi has experience and expertise in the diagnosis and management of all aspects of breast disease, receiving referrals from widely across the North West and the Midlands. By teaming up with Radiologists and Pathologists who are recognised experts in their field, he ensures that women get top quality assessment and advice about their symptoms and can fully participate in the decision making around their own care.

In addition Mr Gandhi is a member of the Breast Cancer Family History service at the Nightingale & Prevent Breast Cancer Centre, Manchester University Hospitals NHS Trust. This is one of the largest Breast Family History services in Europe and he has built up extensive experience in the assessment and surgical care of women at a high lifetime risk of developing breast cancer.

Mr Gandhi is also fully trained and accredited in Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery. He has performed hundreds of thyroid and parathyroid operations and runs a busy Endocrine Surgery practice at Wythenshawe Hospital. He is a core member of the Greater Manchester and Cheshire Thyroid Cancer Team.

He is active in cancer research and is a member of the Institute of Cancer Studies at the University of Manchester. He has published many research papers in breast cancer care and thyroid cancer.

He has also led on, and made significant contributions to, UK national guidelines on the care of patients with breast cancer and thyroid cancer.
