Dr Chikura has a special interest in connective tissue disorders such as Lupus/SLE, Scleroderma and Raynaud’s. He has a dedicated NHS clinic for capillaroscopy for patients with Raynaud’s.
Dr Chikura has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with various forms of arthritis including Rheumatoid arthritis, Psoriatic arthritis, Gout and Osteoarthritis. He also has extensive experience in vasculitis, ankylosing spondylitis, fibromyalgia and chronic pain, osteoporosis, joint hypermobility/Ehlers-Danlos/EDS, Sjogren’s, polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) and temporal arteritis. Dr Chikura regularly performs joint injections and soft tissue injections for pain.
Dr Chikura is involved in teaching and training of medical students from the University of Nottingham Medical School and he is hoping to be involved soon in teaching and training of Medical students from the newly established University of Lincoln Medical School. He is a supervisor for specialty (junior) doctor in the NHS.
Dr Chikura keeps up to date with yearly appraisal process and he has undergone revalidation as required by the GMC.
