Chris trained in Medicine and Surgery in London and Edinburgh before deciding on a career in Plastic Surgery. He trained in some of the UK’s best plastic surgery units before completing his training with an international fellowship in the world-famous Plastic Surgery Unit at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia. He has been in practice since 1995.

Training in the UK and Australia
Chris went to medical school at the London Hospital Medical College, University of London. He then trained in surgery in London and Edinburgh, where he was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCS) before starting his plastic surgery training.
Chris has trained in all aspects of plastic, reconstructive and cosmetic surgery at some of the best Plastic Surgery units in the UK. He completed his training in Australia, as Microsurgery Fellow and Senior Registrar at the world-famous Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unit at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Adelaide, South Australia, where he had the privilege of working with some of the finest plastic and cosmetic surgeons in the world.
Chris was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery FRCS(Plast) and received his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2009. He is on the GMC Specialist Register in Plastic Surgery. He was appointed Consultant Plastic Surgeon in 2009 to expand the breast reconstruction service, take on the head and neck reconstruction service and set up a multidisciplinary facial palsy clinic.
Chris formed Perfecta Cosmetic Surgery (formerly Tees Plastic Surgery and York Plastic Surgery) in 2010 to bring high quality, cutting edge and affordable cosmetic surgery to the North East, Yorkshire and Cumbria. He is one of the best and most experienced cosmetic surgery specialists in the North of England with an outstanding reputation for the quality of care he delivers and the outcomes he achieves for his patients.
Research at Oxford University
Chris was awarded the prestigious Duke of Kent Research Fellowship by the wound healing charity Restore (formerly Stoke Mandeville Burns and Reconstructive Surgery Research Trust).
He spent the next two years at the Nuffield Department of Surgery at Oxford University in full-time research into the biology of scarring and scar prevention and has presented his work at scientific and surgical meetings in the UK, Europe, USA and Australia. Chris remains a medical advisor to the charity Restore.
For this research, Chris received awards from international scientists from the Wound Care Society (Amsterdam 2002), the British Association of Plastic Surgeons Paton-Masser Memorial Prize from his plastic surgery peers in the UK (London 2005) and was awarded his Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from the University of London.
