Personal profile

Professor Imray is a vascular and renal transplant surgeon at UWCW NHS Trust. He has wide ranging research interests and has published over 125 peer review papers. He has written a number of book chapters and books. He was awarded his Chair at Warwick Medical School in 2009, and appointed Director of Research, Development and Innovation and Associate Medical Director at UHCW NHS Trust in 2011. He is a world expert in frostbite and high altitude medicine and is the Civilian Advisor to the British Army for Vascular Surgery.

He is an elected member to the Vascular Society Council and an Examiner for the Final Fellowship Exam. He is the Chair Elect of the Vascular Society Research Committee.

Clinical Interests

  • Veins-Modern minimally invasive vein surgery including VNUS, EVLT and foam sclerotherapy and the treatment of thread veins

  • Arterial surgery- carotid, aortic aneurysm and peripheral vascular disease

  • Venous access surgery for chemotherapy- minimally invasive portacath and Hickman lines
