Personal profile

Dr Garratt qualified at Oxford University and St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School. He training in cardiac ablation at Royal Brompton Hospital, London and St George’s Hospital, London.

He previously was a British Heart Foundation International Fellow University of Maastricht, The Netherlands. Dr Garratt is currently a Professor of Cardiology at Manchester University.

Clinical Interests

  • Management of cardiac arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation

  • Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) and ventricular tachycardia (VT)

  • Catheter ablation procedures

  • Implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators

  • Genetic forms of heart disease including Brugada syndrome and Long QT syndrome

  • Assessment of relatives of sudden death victims
